i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
By: Edward Estlin Cummings
I just recently watched the movie In Her Shoes and it reminded me of how I have always loved this poem by ee cummings.. It is a beautiful poem of love – a deep, passionate and true love. It is a love that asks no questions for the love is always the answer – it is a love that is so intricate it can not be easily understood until you feel it as your own – this love is all you need it is your future, it is your world . . . it is you.
Hopefully, you love this poem as much as I do and maybe got a little something out of the poem…Some people have put the words to music and made this into a song so I found this one through my search and thought I would share it with you!!
