So a quick post on one of my new favorite artists and then i should probably get back to studying (blah!).
Nanna Øland Fabricius traded in ballet slippers for synths and recording gear. The result of this is a peculiar new cinematic electropop Dane who is becoming many peoples new favorite artist (including myself!).
“My goal is to sound like I’m from 2050, but still feel really classic, like the music is an old friend,” said Oh Land.
She has some of the most interesting songs and videos – all having unique meanings and beautiful visuals. Oh Land was discovered by Epic Records 2009’s SXSW and soon released her US debet EP on October 19, 2010 and her full album is due out March 15th, 2011. So, in just a few short days her album will be out for us lovely people to purchase and allow us to fill our houses, cars and well ears with amazing sounds.
The above video is for the song Sun Of A Gun (you can watch her tell what the song means and how the filming was done for the video on Vevo)
A few other songs that I just love a lot right now would be:
White Nights, Rainbow (on youtube search Oh Land-Rainbow (live on the Big Ugly Yellow Couch)), Perfection, Wolf and I, Turn It Up and Lean
Now go fill your ears with some Oh Land.
